When a patient cannot communicate their symptoms, understand their diagnosis, or follow their treatment plan because of a language barrier, the consequences range from delayed care to life-threatening medical errors. Automated Translation with Clinical Review

For non-critical communications like appointment reminders and general health education, Ciyex integrates with translation APIs to provide automated translation. However, automated translation is never used for clinical documentation without human review.

For common clinical scenarios, pre-translated templates eliminate the need for real-time translation. Discharge instructions for common conditions (diabetes management, post-surgical care, medication guides) are maintained in a translation management system with version control:

  • Templates are authored in the primary language

Structured Data Advantage

Because Ciyex stores clinical data as structured FHIR resources rather than free-text notes, much of the clinical content can be rendered in any language without translation. A diagnosis coded as ICD-10 E11.9 can be displayed as "Type 2 diabetes mellitus without complications" in English, "Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 sin complicaciones" in Spanish, or the equivalent in any supported language, because the display is driven by the code, not by the provider's documentation language.
